Upcoming Events on Nantucket!


The Steamship Authority reports the following upcoming events on Nantucket in its latest e-newsletter:

September 22: Nantucket Maritime Festival
This festival will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Children’s Beach, Brant Point. The purpose of the Maritime Festival is to celebrate the joy of living on an island and to experience time-honored maritime activities on and beside the sea that surrounds it.The festival will be packed with free activities for the whole family, on the water, beach and grass: build your own boat races, oyster shucking contests, entertainment by local musical groups, art projects and paddleboarding are just a few of the programs that will be offered by Nantucket’s non-profit organizations.  Food will be available for purchase.

September 24 – 30:  Nantucket Fall Restaurant Week

September 30: Annual Junior Chef Competition
Come watch island culinary students paired with Nantucket's top chefs compete to create three courses highlighting local ingredients for a panel of judges.

October 6: Cranberry Harvest Festival
Come out to the Festival grounds and watch the berries being harvested, learn about the history of cranberry farming on Nantucket, participate in the family activities or just kick back and enjoy the music and the spectacular autumn scenery of one of the most unique and beautiful places on Nantucket.

October 31: Annual Halloween Parade
Join the fun at the Annual Halloween Parade and Costume Pageant! A prize for Best Themed Costume will be awarded at 4:30 PM on the Methodist Church steps. Parade begins at 5 PM and every child will receive a ribbon and goodie bag.
