Nantucket Hero Triathlon Set for July 21st

We're big fans of fitness at hyannistonantucket.com so we're happy to help promote the 2013 Nantucket Hero Triathlon, scheduled for Sunday, July 21st. Details of the event, as listed on the Nantucket Chamber of Commercer website, are below.

Event Description: The Nantucket Hero Triathlon comes on the heels of the highly successful Nantucket Sprint Triathlon. Now in it's 5th year, the Nantucket Triathlon brings in 1,000 athletes from around the country to enjoy everything the island has to offer. Nantucket's long and storied history as the whaling capital of the world, combined with historic architecture, cobblestone streets, vibrant waterfront, pristine beaches, clean waters and beautiful moorlands will provide a perfect backdrop to a race inspired to give back to the very people who have fought for our freedom. The triathlon consists of a .9 mile swim, a 28 mile bike, and a 6.8 mile run.

Hy-Line Travel Update (6/29)

The Inter Island trip to Nantucket at 2:00 pm and the 3:20 pm to Martha's Vineyard have been cancelled due to the winds.    The traditional boat Brant Point to Martha's Vineyard at 9:25 am and the 5:15 pmto Hyannis have been cancelled due to the high winds.    The high speed boat Lady Martha to Martha's Vineyard at 8:15 am and the 9:20 am to Hyannis have been cancelled due to the high winds.   For most up-to-date information please call (800) 492-8082.

Steamship Authority Travel Update

Based on the current tidal charts and shoaling conditions in Hyannis Harbor, the M/V Eagle's and M/V Nantucket's arrivals and departures may be delayed on Sunday, June 23, 2013 through Thursday, June 27, 2013.

The Steamship Authority advises its customers to check the Authority’s website for further updates.
